Mechatronics Engineering, developed in direct response to the contemporary industrial demand for engineers with multi-disciplinary skills, is a combination of mechanical, electronics; control, computer and systems design engineering streams. The programme focuses the fundamental courses of Mechanical engineering , Material science, Electronics engineering, Electrical engineering, Computer engineering (software & hardware engineering), Control engineering and Optical engineering etc. The program allows engineers to design, construct and run industrial production lines and automated processes, where they use their skills in computers, micro-controller, programmable logic controller based programming, industrial sensors, hydraulic, pneumatic and electric drives, in combination with the domain knowledge in design of mechanical structures & mechanisms and knowledge of manufacturing processes. There is immense scope for this course in the present scenario for various automated industrial applications. The main advantage after the completion of this course is that it is not constrained to work in the field of pure Mechatronics alone, but also equal opportunities in the other areas such as electrical, systems, computer engineering etc.
